National Nurses Week & Teacher Appreciation Week

Let us draw our attention to teachers and nurses, especially this past year. These two professions are honored once every year from May 3rd-May7th (Teacher Appreciation) and May 6th-May 12th (Nurse Appreciation) . They deserve so much more than one week a year since their work is crucial to maintaining normalcy. Almost everyone can think of a particularly passionate teacher who helped them find their way and an exceptional nurse that made recovery much easier and enjoyable. These two weeks represent a unique opportunity to celebrate and thank these individuals.

National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week is a celebration of the contribution that all nurses make for their sacrifice to help someone else and the health of all people. The week is celebrated from May 6th to May 12th with National Nurses Day being on the 6th which falls on a Thursday this year. Care providers affect the lives of everyone. Everyone knows someone that has been affected by their great work. Every year during the celebration week, individuals and communities recognize nurses through awards, celebrations, and special events.

National Teacher Appreciation Week

National Teacher Appreciation Week is the celebration of the educators that prepare us to live our lives to the fullest and to become capable individuals. This year National Teacher Appreciation Week runs from May 3rd to May 7th. Teacher Appreciation Day is celebrated on May 4th this year which falls on a Tuesday. Most people have had a teacher that seems to help them get the information and confidence that they need in order to succeed. Let us celebrate these educators that work every day to make sure our children are well-rounded individuals.

Then there is a special type of people that are known as nurse educators. These are the people that possess significant training and practice and want to share their skills and knowledge with other nurses. Many of these nurses will teach and continue to practice to maintain their abilities and stay aware of industry changes.

No matter how you look at these professions. Most of these people choose their jobs out of a desire to care for others. Whether it be sharing knowledge or caring for patients. The exceptional people that make up these fields are worthy of celebrating and our thanks.
